MXL Picture

MXL Digital Dash and Data Loggers

The MXL is a self-contained dash with data acquisition capabilities. It comes in two flavors: The $2,499 MXL Pro has waterproof Deutsch Autosport connectors on the back, offers 16MB of memory and features 12 analog channels, and up to 4 wheel speed sensors. The $1,999 MXL Pista uses a simplier plastic connector for the harness (suitable for enclosed cars), and has 8MB of memory, 8 analog channels, and support for one wheelspeed sensor. Both systems come complete with beacon transmitter & receiver to give you lap times, and a built-in G sensor and external wheelspeed sensor to enable drawing of track maps. These systems download using a USB cable (included). They each feature 6 programmable alarm lights, and 10 Shift LEDs which can be set to whatever thresholds you desire. All MXL models can accept either CANbus or RS232 data streams from a variety of engine management systems (ECUs) -- this may mean that you can receive temp and pressure information from your ECU, and avoid duplicating sensors.

EVO3 Pro

New for 2007 is the EVO3 Pro. This is an updated version of the EVO3 that has the same features as the MXL Pro including Deutsch Autosport connectors, 12 configurable channels, 16MB of memory and ECT (Easy Connection Technology) for interfacing with almost all racing ECU's via either CAN or RS232. The EVO3 Pro sells for $2,499 while the optional MyChron3 display sells for $190.00. There is an EVO3 Pista model as well, which offers 8 analong channels and 8MB of memory for $1,999.

The new Formula Steering wheel for cars is designed to work with the EVO3 Pro or EVO3 Pista, $933. It integrates a dispaly and pushbuttons into a neat package for drivers of formula cars with practically non-existant dash space.

MyChron3 XG Log

This affordable ($999) system comes with everything you need to add data acquisition to your race car. Featuring 8MB of memory, 5 analog channels (plus the ability to connect to ECU data streams with either RS232 or CANbus), this system includes a beacon transmitter/receiver, a wheel speed sensor, 2-axis G-sensor, one temperature and one pressure sensor. Just hook up your ECU (or tach signal), and power and you're ready to go! There's even an optional steering wheel (11"x9", $249) with a built-in mount near the top for the display.

MyChron3 Gold

The MyChron3 Gold has four user configurable channels, 8MB of memory and built-in lateral G sensor. It sells for $999 and comes with a magnetic wheel speed sensor, VDO pressure sensor, RTD fluid temp sensor, two patch cables, lap timing (beacon receiver & transmitter), USB download cable, Race Studio 2 software CD and User's Manual.

MyChron3 Plus

This entry level system sells for $749.00. That price includes 512KB of memory, four channels for temperature or pressure sensors only, magnetic wheel speed sensor, USB download cable, software CD and User's Manual. There's no built in G sensor so you won't get track maps, but you can download data and for $120 add the optional lap timing beacon receiver and transmitter.

Aim wiring

All Aim systems use the same sensors, and water-resistant Binder connectors. The cables are different for the MXL or Mychron3 XG products, because of the connectors used.

Patch cables to connect from the sensor to the junction box (Mychron3 XG) or stub harness (MXL, EVO3) are available in .5 meter (approx. 19") increments in lengths from 1.5 - 4 meters (59 in - 157 in). Mychron3 cables, $29.85 - $35.85 , MXL cables $25 - $32.50.

We can shorten or lengthen the cables for the XG Log wheelspeed and beacon receivers for $35.00.
