MoTeC Power Distribution Modules

Power Distribution Modules

The Motec PDM replaces relays & fuses in an automobile. By having the computer (PDM) control the systems in the car, you have virtually unlimited flexibility to control anything you can imagine. PDM CAN communications means that you can control and log all the information using a Motec Logger or ECU.

Things a MoTeC PDM can do:

  • Auto switch to reserve fuel pump. If fuel pressure drops or main pump current drops, start reserve pump.
  • Auto start. Use a low-voltage switch to start the engine. Can keep cranking until engine starts, so you don’t have to hold the starter. Can trigger from air-jack pressure or similar.
  • Rain light flashing. Can flash rain light in wet conditions.
  • Flash to pass headlights. One button press flashes high beam lights 10 times.
  • Turbo or engine cool down timer. Engine runs after ignition switched off for a set time if coolant/exhaust temp is high.
  • Pump or fan on/off control. Maintain pressure in accumulator tanks.
  • Act as an immobilizer — prevent engine running while doors are locked or alarm system is active.

Models of PDM vary by type of connector and number of channels.
